THE 2013 TEXAS RALLY FOR LIFE
The 2013 Texas Rally for Life poster

2013

On a cold January morning, Paul Rodriguez went out with his church youth group to videoshoot an event to highlight what the youth did. Little did he know how big this event was going to be so he documented more of what was going on and saw the struggle of saving the unborn. Thousands from around Texas poured into the state's capitol to show support for the life of the unborn. Government and state officials were also present to show support with words of encouragement. This was a special event because it dated 40 years since the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of abortion in the Roe V Wade case. Since then many opposed the court's decision and every year would have a rally throughout America. Well in Texas this year the 2013 rally for Life was different in the sense that it started a change in the hearts of many as well as changes in the laws throughout the following years. Through the lens of a camera, Paul made this short story to share his experience on this memorable occasion.

GROW TOGETHER: PLANTING THE SEED

2011

Grow Together: Planting the Seed poster

A story about community refugees.

This story picked up when Paul Rodriguez was invited to video shoot a one-time event of a refugee party. Upon arrival, Paul noticed that the party was larger than anticipated, with television networks covering the event as well as a radio station. Michael McKee who heads up Grow Together built a ministry by wanting to help local refugees with building a garden for food. With the help and interests of others around Austin, Texas, this small project grew like the plants they planted. Other organizations and people got involved and Grow Together is now a full-scale working ministry helping the community of local refugees that came from different parts of the world like China, Nepal, Bhutan, Africa, and more. This unique outreach not only helps refugees grow their food but also helps connect relationships and assistance. Watch this story and be a part of the lives of local refugees and the brutal story of one refugee named John Monger on hardships he faced from his native government as he made his way to America with unwavering faith. This movie teaches friendships and looking into other cultures around the world with the simple idea of making a garden together.

OUR STORY

2011

A story for future generations.

This project started when Paul Rodriguez read an article in a Videomaker magazine. The article was about how one can make a video of Grandparents as a tribute and keepsake for generations to come. It's a way to show the generations down the road how they lived their lives and the things they've experienced growing up, how they met, and how they lived together. In this story Paul's parents tell how life was in the 50s, living together and raising six children, and the events they witnessed throughout the decades.
